"Being Disciples who Make Disciples that are Sent Out to Plant Autonomous Biblical Churches to Extend the Kingdom of God"
This is Brandon, the young man in our Church who has decided he wants to pursue a life of service to the Lord in the ministry, and who is also our first ever full-time intern for Church Mexico. We are currently involved in helping him get his education and training, with plans to bring him on staff in the near future. We are excited.
He is traveling with his mom Fabiola and sister Vania. Vania is part of our King's Kids Before and After School ministry, and is being sponsored through the Hands Extended ministry to assist her in obtaining a higher-level education. Fabiola is a young widow, yet helps twice a month in the Children's ministry at Church, while holding down a full-time job at the local factory to provide for their family and save for the cost of their Visa process.
They are on their way to Juarez for their interviews to get U.S. Visas - they are working hard to be able to cross the Legal way. Once acquired, I will be able to take Brandon with me across the border to learn more and to assist me with the work of the ministry.
Thank you to those of you who have helped us to help and bless this family over the years, especially Sherry & John Whitworth and Hands Extended and their sponsors; Bob & Nancy Monfort and Hearts Empowering the Poor and those who provide them support; Pastors Steven Ball, Mike Katz, Fernando Argumedo and their Churches Spring Valley & Faro de Luz. And certainly to my brothers and sisters in Christ here in San Luis who have loved and served and ministered to this family nearly everyday for the past 4 years! God is doing great things in and through them!
Please pray for God's favor for them during travels and for the person who is conducting the interviews, who will also be deciding on granting them their Visas or not...

Mike and Emanuel have succesfully installed the Air Compressor and Suction Device for the Dental Clinic and they are functioning!!! We have been doing general medical clinics and pregnancy center meetings, now we are ready for the Teeth. Basic physical ailments, pregnant women and newborns, dental issues and vision issues that are often very easy treatable are often neglected in impovershed areas around the globe. The result is not only that there is suffering, but these easily treatable issues can often be resolved with little investment by professionals working in these areas.
Our purpose is not only to meet the immediately medical/physical need, but to shre the gosple and pray with Every Single Person that comes in to be treated. It is leaders from the Church in San Luis who do this before the medical professionals are seen, but they always have younger/newer believers from the local Church who are observing and learning from their examples. After several experiences, the leader then stays with the other person who is being discipled, and they are then given the opportunity to share the gospel and pray for those who are seeking care. This has been a very inspiring and encouraging and effective manner as we seek to be discipled so we can make disciples to extend the kingdom of God in this area of the world...
We hae a general medical clinic scheduled for October 16-21, and the first Dental Clinic scheduled for November 2-5th - please pray for those who are coming to serve alongside of us, for those in the Church who are doing the work of the ministry, and especially for those whom the Lord would draw near to Himself! If you are interested in assisting us in some manner with this work, please let us know. Thank You for your prayers and your love and your support - God Bless You!

So, I wrote some time ago about the difference between asking and expecting God to fulfill our dreams, with God giving us dreams for His Glory according His will and His purposes... Well, one of the dreams we have is to own a Motor Home to travel in and Proclaim and Demonstrate the Love, Word and Power of Jesus so that multitudes of People's Lives are Changed Now, Continually and Forever! (the photo is an example of one that might work)
Our other purpose as Church Mexico is to be Disciples who Make Disciples that plant autonomous Churches to extend the Kingdom of God. We see in the Scriptures that Jesus traveled quite a bit with His disciples, both modeling and instructing them how to minister to other, and then having them practice what he showed and told them. That is our desire.
We are certainly accomplishing this here in San Luis Rio Colorado, but we are ready to take the Church to the people in other parts of Mexico... This is a way we can do it that will require much less finances for food and housing, as we can sleep in the motorhome and purchase food at discounted prices in supermarkets and cook our own food inside the motorhome. Please pray that the Lord would make the dreams He gives us for His purposes come true... Thank You, God Bless You!

This top photo is of our brother Crispin and our new sister in the Lord Isabelle upon our return to San Luis after them having successful life-changing eye surgeries in San Quintin, Mexico. We are so grateful to all of our friends who helped make this happen! It's amazing to experience and witness the power and grace of God when so many invest their lives to see other people's lives changed... Below are photos of a few friends from Church we took to minister to those who were waiting in line at the clinic, and then one-to-one ministry and prayer. It was a fun time discipling the young guys and new beilievers! God Bless You!

My Friend Joe came down with our new friend Chris to spend time with us over the weekend as Fernando and I went around visiting people and praying for the sick. When we had stopped to eat after Friday's service, Joe said how encouraged and amazed he was by what he saw happening in the Church. When I questioned him as to why, he went on to say that sometimes we can't see how beautiful the forest is because we're down in the trees; to clarify his statement with another illustration, he then said that in our case, we are on the front lines and down in the trenches.
I dug a little deeper and asked him what he saw that amazed him, and referred to where we are at as a Church and as Leadership and as a congregation, compared to just 2 years ago. He reminded me that I was only talking about the vision of people's lives being changed, and how I was wanting to see those whom we were investing our lives in growing up spiritually and taking on leadership roles. He went on to tell me how he sees things now, and how much growth and progress has been made over the last couple of years. As he spoke, I was reminded of how I had been hoping and praying and working for us to have a solid children's ministry, to have a bunch of youth on fire for Jesus, how I wanted to see people getting saved and people being healed and people being set free from the bondages in their lives. I remembered how we saw so many kids struggling in school and with life in general, and how so many parents were struggling to keep them in school and supplied with what they needed.
As I sat there reflecting on the tiredness I was feeling two years ago while preaching the Word outside in the elements twice a week using only a computer and video for worship songs; as I reflected on how hard I was clinging to the hope I had in Jesus while not being able to see any abundant fruit for the labors, God powerfully touched my heart. I teared up instantly. What joy. What humbleness overwhelmed me at seeing very clearly God's mighty hand at work over time, and seeing His constant faithfulness to His Church, and to His servants. What inspiration I felt at that moment - it was as if someone infused 6 liters of Encouragement into my 5 liters of blood, making me feel like I wanted to burst from within.
I am so grateful to those who are serving in and through la Iglesia en San Luis - they are indeed my co-laborers, and I can't wait to see what God does in and through them in the future, and where He takes them...
Thank You, Every One Of You who have invested part of your life or resources or prayer into this work. We continue to Proclaim and Demonstrate Jesus' Love, Word and Power, and have seen some lives wonderfully changed... Our Mission is to see Multitudes of Lives Being Changed Continually and Forever - we are definately on our way!
Please pray for us as we look to start the King's Kids before/after school program for the new school year beginning in September. Please pray that the necessary resources come in for the first building of our Community Center in Colonia Reforma as we are lacking only a little more. Please pray that we are fruitful as we begin to minister to the kids in the local Juvenile Detention Center next month. Please pray for the Medical Clinics we will start having beginning November. Please pray for the city-wide evangelistic outreach we'll have during Christmas. Please pray for us as our Church plans to plant the second Church in Colonia Mesquite as the Lord Jesus draws more and more people unto Himself. Please pray for my Dear Friend and Mentor Pastor Ray Williams and his wife Carol as he suffers from cancer.
Finally, please pray that the people in the Church at San Luis continue to be discipled so they Grow and Glow and Go for Jesus! If you are interested in joining us in anyone of these efforts, please let us know. May God Richly Bless You With All Spiritual Blessings, and may all know you for your Love of Jesus and your Love for others!!!

I want to share with you briefly about how we've been living out our Mission as a Church: "Proclaiming and Demonstrating Jesus' Love, Word and Power so that Multitudes of People's Lives are Changed Now, Continually and Forever!"
I had desired for some time to purchase t-shirts that have the Church in San Luis logo on the back, and on the front the three symobls that represent the "doing" part of our Mission statement: Love, Word & Power (Amor, Palabra y Poder). The idea was that everyone in the Church who is actively and consistently serving in one or more areas of ministry would receive a shirt as recognition of their service unto the Lord. Because of those who support the work the Lord has us doing here, we were finally able to get enough pesos together to get the shirts purchased...
I presented the shirts during service; when I called up everyone from the Church who has been committed to serving for at least the last several months, there were only 7 people left sitting in the seats! Everyone else was up front, and it was a very powerful physical sign/demonstration that we are looking more and more like the Church we find in the Scriptures... It was only the physically impaired and visitors who were left sitting in the chairs - everyone else in our Church was standing up front because they desire to live for Jesus, make themselves available, and are committed to serve Jesus as part of His Church!
I had dreamed about pastoring a group of people who make up a Church like this, and it seems that at least for now I am extremely priveleged and totally blessed to serve just such a Church. I love and appreciate every one of them, and I am so grateful and so excited to see what God's doing and going to do in them and through them as more and more lives are Forever changed! Thank You, THANK YOU for Loving Us and Supporting Us - we couldn't do what we're doing without your generosity and your faithfull support that helps us to fulfill what God has called us to in this part of the world...

It's hard to tell in this photo, but Crispin & Rogelio & Carmelo are NOT giving us the middle finger... it is the Victory Sign!!! After many months of volunteer unskilled labor, the framing and the plywood for the walls and the roof on the public washrooms are finally completed. Now we can go on to finish the plumbing, electrical, drywal, & finishing touches!
We are so grateful to God for having gotten this far, and we couldn't have done it without the help of our American friends Gary, Ed, Rene, Curt, Don, Mike, Chris and Pastor Ray who all provided either a physical hand, supplies or counsel to get this completed. Then there was the financial support we received by so many. Thank you, each on of you, from the bottom of our hearts...
These washrooms will consist of 2 sinks, 2 toilets and 2 showers when completed. They will not only serve the people who participate in services, discipleship training, outreach events, weddings, conferences, and skill-building classes, but they will serve short-term missionaries who come to serve and stay at the community center, and they will also serve the community abroad who currently use outhouses and have no running water for sinks or showers to ensure good hygiene and reduce poor health.
However, we are far from ready to be able to use this facility. We need your help. We need $ to purchase the remaining materials, and we need YOU to come down and work alongside us to help us get this finished!
Please give me a call in the U.S. at 928.388.9731, in Mexico at 011.521.653.130.4353, or send me an email at [email protected] to let me know if you can provide financial resources or if you can come or can bring a group of people to come and help us get this project finished. When we're finished with the washrooms, we can then move on to starting the Worship/Training/Conference Center!!!
Until then, may the Lord Jesus continue to Richly Bless You!

I'd been hearing about people waiting outside all day long in the heat just to receive some food, and that they were without shade and without water - someone told me last night this was still taking place, so we went after service to see for ourselves. I was astonished. At 10pm, there were still over 100 people horded around a small entry way to a small building where food was being delivered daily and then portioned out according to numbers that were being called.
We had taken a cooler full of cold water bottles and upon arriving we began passing them out - they were being snatched up faster than we could hand them out. I heard one lady say "Thank You So Much" more than 5 times... By 10pm, it was less than 100 degrees and there was no sun; it's hard to imagine people standing there for 16 hours throughout the long day with no shade being provided.
As we visited with them and prayed over them, we learned that some had been waiting since 3am that morning, with little to eat and little to drink - all because their family needed food and didn't have the resources to acquire their own - this government food assistance program would help them to get through this most difficult 40 days of the year (July 10-August 20 has proven to be a season with extreme temperatures and limited work opportunities not only for the unskilled laborers). There were a few folks we spoke to who had spent several days going to the site, waiting to see if their number would be called, then going back home only to return again the next day to wait again. If their reports are true, there were days when over 400 people gathered at a time.
This is obviously a ridiculous situation that is being terribly mismanaged, and we'll look for someone who is responsible so that it can be remedied soon. In the mean time, a few of us from the Church in San Luis are going back today with more than a few cold bottles of water. Our hope and prayer is not only to quench their thirst, but to refresh their souls. Jesus said, “Everyone who drinks of this water will thirst again; but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never thirst; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life.” Please pray for those we'll be ministering to, and thank you for your continued support that allows us to continue to serve others in Jesus' name...

Dear Friends, I read an article last week that has severely burdened my heart - the article states that there were 15 suicides here in San Luis Rio Colorado, in the first 5 months of 2014. That's an average of 3 per month. There were 16 suicides here in all of 2013; that means that the pace of suicides here have more than doubled in one year. I have not been able to get this out of my mind; it is there day and night.
I can't stop thinking about people taking their lives because they have no peace, they have no hope. I think about it when I look at the kids in the streets who have sad faces. I think about it when I talk to guys walking back from their day of work at the dump. I think about it when I sit down with couples who are fighting. I think about it when I give food to people who are out of work and hungry. I think about it when a guy washes my window or stops me to ask for money. I think about it when a teenager wants to continue their education but can't because their family doesn't have the funds to pay for school. I think about it when I encounter the addict at the convenient store. I think about it when I talk with one of the old guys who lives alone with no one to share life. I think about it when I wake up, many times throughout the day, and when I lay down...
I seem to be constantly conscious about those whom have no hope and no peace, and about the high probability that there will be another 21 people in this small city who will take their own life in the next 7 months. Every child, every man, every woman... it seems that every person I come in contact with I ask, "Will this person kill themselves this year, because they have no hope?" I do not like having this state of mind - it is utterly terrible.
At the same time, it has intensely increased my focus on helping people seek and find the hope that is available to everyone. I've never been more determined. I've never realized so much that this could be the last time, the last day, the last chance...
Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have Peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand; and we exult in HOPE of the glory of God. And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance; and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope; and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us. For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. (Romans 5:1-6 NASB)
This is our message. For the believers and the unsaved. Our hope is in Jesus, and it is a great hope, one that never fades and never ends. We do not put our hope in our jobs, nor in our health, nor in our wisdom or strength, nor in another human being or relationship with them... Our hope is in the God of heaven and earth, who never fails and is forever perfect and all powerful. He is everlasting, and His faithfulness endures from generation to generation. Those who do know know Him do not have this hope. But to all who call on the name of the Lord Jesus, for all who are called according to His purpose, all who have died to themselves and picked up their Cross and follow Him... To them He has granted eternal life. He has granted the right to become children of the Most High God; heirs and heiresses to the Kingdom of Heaven. He has granted the sacred privilege and honor to carry His message of HOPE to all the lost, all the burdened, all the dying, all those who are weak and who are weary...
Please pray for us, for the Church in San Luis who carry this message, for the ministry Church Mexico, and most of all for those here in San Luis whose lives the devil wants to steal and kill and destroy! Thank you for your prayers and support...
